Friday Fetishes - Happy Halloween

Another Friday is here and it's Halloween weekend! We have 3 parties this weekend, so we will be Halloween'd out by Monday.

Are you the dress up and go out type or the stay home with the lights off type? Either way I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Here are the things I love this week (starting from top left).

I love this adorable knit hooded cape

This handmade wool knit pillow would be the perfect addition to a bed or couch. A must have for fall and winter.

Ring bling alert! I am drooling over this Mango Mountain Stone Ring. Isn't it beautiful?

Take a look at this pumpkin cheesecake with nutella ganache. All I can say is OMG!

I really, really adore this wrap dress that's wearable like 4 different ways and available in a bunch of different colors.

Aren't these the coolest teardrop vessels from Niki Jones? I love her stuff.

I need these boots from Swedish Hasbeens. I would go for the turquoise one's.

Last but not least, I want this room designed by Lindsay Bentis. So pretty and oh that chandelier!

Halloween in Harlem

Photographer Amy Stein did a really cool project called "Halloween in Harlem". These are a few of my favorite shots.

Also stay tuned for my Friday Fetishes

An Etsy Halloween

Now I know that time is running out to order things for Halloween, but I've seen some really cute things that I just had to share. As it goes with Etsy, there was ton of stuff I loved, so I painstakingly narrowed it down to a couple favorites.

These adorable knit Halloween Mary Jane's

These all natural, homemade Candy Corn lip balms. Yummmm!

This totally adorable pumpkin necklace

If you've never had this yummy, yummy treat before, it's to die for! I'm excited about the Christmas flavors too.

This cute hand knit pumpkin hat. Love the stem on this!

This totally cute and unique embroidered trick-or-treat bag

This candy corn bath bar. You'd smell like candy corn all day!

Spooky Stays

Heeere's Johnny!
For those of you who have read or seen "The Shining" (I only watched it once), the Stanley Hotel was the inspiration behind it. The most popular room is 217. The hotel offers ghost tours and ghost hunts where you will hear tales of actual sightings. Guests can also tun in to "The Shining" on one of the hotel's television stations where it's on loop all of the day.

The Winchester Mystery House was lived in by the widow and heir to the Winchester rifle fortune. Mrs. Winchester felt that she was being haunted by the evil spirits of those killed by a Winchester rifle. So in order to confuse these evil spirits she kept changing and creating more and more rooms. The result of this was stairs leading to the ceiling, doors that go nowhere, and chimneys that stop just short of the roof. Flashlight tours of the mansion are given every Friday the 13th and at Halloween!

The Lizzie Borden B&B is the home where Lizzie Borden allegedly took an ax to her parents. Guests can stay in rooms that used to belong to various family members including the room that her parents were found dead in. If you're not creeped out enough, there is a mannequin of Lizzie Borden and crime scene photos in this room. I would not be brave enough to stay here! (shudder, shudder)

Sidenote: I should not have done this post before bed

Halloween Entertaining

I've always wanted to throw a Halloween party, but just never done it. I just think it would be a lot of fun to go all out with the decorations and costumes. Maybe one day. So for now I can live vicariously through these fun party ideas.
This was my favorite. Someone took a picture of a creepy old house and blew it up. What a genius idea! I also love the big lanterns.

I thought this one was a bit more sophisticated, but still fun

Totally adore these Vintage invitations and postcards! How perfect is that?

Devilish Delights

Halloween is nearly upon us, so I am dedicating this weeks posts to this spooky holiday. Now I am very visual with my food, so most of these I don't think I could even attempt to eat, but I guess that's the point. These look so real that I'm feeling a bout of nausea just looking at them. Would you partake?

Oh happy day. It's Friday! I have decided that my Friday posts are going to be all about the things that I'm loving right now. So here's the first of many.

These autumn leaves dessert plates from West Elm would be so fun for entertaining

Garance DorƩ

Did you see the sweet post that The Sartorialist did of his girlfriend and photographer Garance DorƩ? I love her style! I particularly love her menswear inspired outfit in the 2nd pic. Those boots! Love.

Room Inspiration - Equestrian Chic

I've seen a couple of horse posts going around and I have to say that I love it. I used to ride a bit and have always had a love of these magnificent animals. I saw these equestrian chic designs and had to post. LOVE, LOVE them!

Fall Wedding

What a pretty wedding. I love the pumpkin centerpieces! I was a young June bride that hadn't grown into her own style yet, but looking back now I wish I would have waited a couple months until fall. I love the rich colors and kind of rustic feel that goes with a fall wedding.

A Fashionable Rainy Day

It's been raining all day here and now it definitely feels like fall! Now if you have to go out in it why not style it up a bit huh?

These bubble umbrella's just makes me happy! It's a jump in the puddles kind of umbrella. The pic above is from Brollies Galore (a UK co), but you can find adorable one's here in the U.S.

Love this umbrella from pare*umbrella because it would look chic with jeans, but also work for a night out

I just adore these pinstripe pagoda's. They are going on my wish list.

Last but not least, the boots! Wouldn't these look really cute paired with some leggings and a cute coat?

The Jacket

It's turning colder this week, so it's jacket time. There are so many styles I like and all very different! The problem is deciding. Couldn't you just sleep in the Hanii Y jacket? It looks so comfy and cozy. I'm also really into turquoise right now, so I was drooling a bit over the Diane Von Furstenburg. What kind of jacket are you wearing this season?

Happy Weekend!

This weekend is going to be a relax, stick close to home, and catch up on some sleep weekend. I'm very excited about it actually. Lately, I've been really missing the mountains and fall foliage, so we may go in search of some for us to see. Hope you have a great weekend.

If you get a chance check out the ChloƩ Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. Such a stunning collection from the clothes to the ballerina shoes. I'm drooling over the white dress with the red ballerina's.

Venomous Villain

So have you seen the MAC collection featuring some the Disney Villain's? I was looking for fun fall nail colors and ran into these, which I am told are all the rage and always sold out. We have Formidable!, Mean & Green, and Bad Fairy. Now I prefer much more of a natural/neutral look on my fingers, but my toes can have all the fun they want and I do loves the metallic. What do you think of them?

Hello My Pretties

Okay, I am breaking from my fall theme to show you these beauties photographed here by Marie Labbancz. They are turquoise, they are sparkly, and they are Christian Louboutins. Need I say more?? What beautiful wedding shoes. I'm excited to see the pictures of them on the bride.

Fall Yummies

So around this time last year I was ready to pop and majorly jonesing for something pumpkiney. You know how that goes when your pregnant, there was no stopping me til I got my fix. I found an absolutely yummy recipe (thank you Martha Stewart) and made me some pumpkin goodness then topped it with a cream cheese icing and some cute fall sprinkles (pic above). Mmmmmmm. Here it is typed out and ready to go: Enjoy!

Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Icing

* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon coarse salt
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1 teaspoon ground ginger
* 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg (I doubled this because I love nutmeg.)
* 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
* 1 cup packed brown sugar
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
* 4 large eggs, lightly beaten
* 1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin puree (I used a 14-ounce can and it was still lovely and pumpkin-y)

Preheat oven to 350. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and the spices. In another bowl, whisk together the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients and whisk until smooth. Then whisk in pumpkin puree.

Line the cupcake pan with liners and fill each about halfway with batter. Bake until tops spring back when touched and a cake tester comes out clean, about 20 to 25 minutes. Rotate the pans if needed. (I have one pan, so did not bother with that step.) Transfer to wire rack and let cool completely before icing.

Cream Cheese Icing

* 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
* 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
* 3 cups icing sugar, sifted
* 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Beat butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and sugar.
