Valentines Nails

I'm not one for a lot of color on my nails.  My toes...they are all about the party, but I keep the nails pretty simple. In fact, I rarely paint them at all because with diapers and kids I wash my hands a million times a day, so it just ends up looking like poo. However, I was thinking of doing something fun just for Valentines day and I loved this idea. Just one heart.  Simple and pretty.

If anything, you can't go wrong with a sexy red. Right?

Adorable Updo

 Because I have little hands that like to grab my already falling out hair, I wear my hair in a bun 99% of the time. Although I haven't mastered the technique to get perfect bun, I still adore them. However, every once in a while I need to fancy it up a bit and try something different. Isn't this just the prettiest updo ever? It even looks easy enough for me to try it. I'm thinking I might need her bangs though....oh but that's a whole other post.

Also lovin' this updo tutorial. I think I can do this one too. LOVE it!

Hair Knot

Do you ever have one of those just throw your hair back/make it work kinda days? I do A LOT. After seeing this version of a hair knot done for the Michael Kors Spring show, I think I've found my new favorite summer do.

Ombre Hair

I have been seeing posts all over the place about the Ombre hair trend that's huge now. I've had this picture of Jessica Biel saved forever because I loved her hair so much, but didn't know at the time what it was. I've been every hair color under the sun, so this is a new one for me to try out. I'm already dark brown and wanted to add some highlights in for my upcoming Hawaii trip, so kittens, I think this is just the ticket! Thoughts, feelings, curses?? Any DON'T DO IT'S?

Braided Bun

Since I am totally a bun girl, I'm always looking for new ways to dress it up a bit. I came across this braided bun tutorial and holy awesomeness!! At first sight it looks a bit complicated, but the steps are so simple!!  I'm dying to try it out tomorrow morning, so I'll give a full report of how it turned out.  Do you guys have any fun/simple ways to dress up your hair?  If so, pleeeease share.

Friday Favs: Spring Essentials

Although it's been Spring here for a couple weeks, it's official everywhere else now too. Yay!! Time to stock up on some Spring essentials. Since St. Patrick's Day is coming up today's favs are all about the green. Green also just happens to be my favorite color. One of my favorite ways to add a pop of color to my outfit is to add some green jewelry or a bag or scarf. I'm kinda dyin' over those shoes and that dress though...

I have been seeing a lot of orange and tangerine lipstick lately and I REALLY want to try it out. I think the trick will be finding the right shade. What do you think about this trend? Would you try it?

Twisty Hair

I almost always wear my hair up these days. Mostly due to being short on time, but I also have a tyke who likes to pull hair.  I'm always hunting for new cute little updo's that I can try. Aren't these twisty hairdo's fun?? I think I'm gonna try one of these babies out today!

Red Lips

As much as I admire women who have the perfect red pout, I have never been confidant wearing red lipstick. I don't feel like it looks good on me. I'm thinking that maybe I just haven't found the right color. I would love to wear the perfect red lipstick (a la picture above) for my Valentines date with husband. Ladies, I need some help! Suggestions please???

Friday Favs

Happy Friday! I couldn't help myself, but it's the last Friday I can don pink, red, and hearts together for a while.
I have some sick babies, so we're sticking closer to home this weekend, but we have some family coming into town that we're really excited to see. I also just got my plane tickets for a little me time in the Bay Area next weekend! So excited!!! What are you up to this weekend kittens??? Any fun or romantic plans heading into Valentines?

Mommy Make-up

As a mom I feel lucky if I get to shower let alone put make-up on. However, ALL us girls sometimes just need a quick throw-it-on face so that we look somewhat presentable as we're running somewhere. So here is my 5 minute face:

1. Boots No 7 - both a moisturizer and light foundation to even out skin. LOVE this stuff!

2. Cover Girl concealer to cover up my lack of sleep. This one's not drying.

3. Tarte Cheek Stain is by far the favorite thing I use. It brightens up your face and 1 bottle will last you forever!

4. A nice neutral eyeshadow looks good on anyone. I like a little shimmer and this Lorac trio is awesome!

5. This Rimmel eyeliner is my 2nd fav product. It darkens your eye, but also leaves a hint of shimmer. In a huge hurry, I use this without shadow.

6. Lash Blast mascara - I used to go for the pricey stuff, but I used this on a whim and it stuck!

7. I had this Dr. Pepper lip gloss when I was 7 years old, so it's nostalgia that makes me keep buying it, but it also has a hint of red that is pretty

8. Last, but not least I love my Tokyomilk. I pack the Sugar, Sugar solid perfume in my bag so I always smell yummy!

There you have it. Pretty simple and quick!

Even though blogs are ablaze with Spring collections, I have to remind myself that it is still winter. So as much as I want to start breaking out the pastels, I am not quite ready to pack away my winter colors. Here are some fun ways to dress up your winter nails. (Don't you love that Sea green?)

Red Hair

Quite frequently I get bored with my hair and want a drastic change. I was a darker red last year, but have since gone back to dark brown. I'm really smitten with these vibrant reds though. I think I might have to try it out. What do you think?
