Over the weekend I found a cute little vintage shop and they had the most adorable vintage stockings. Now it doesn't mean that I don't secretly love the fuzzy red stockings with my name handwritten in glitter on the top.

Upside Down Trees
We went and got our tree over the weekend and we almost have it up. This year I caved and went with a artificial tree due to the fact that falling needles and a daring one year old don't make for a happy mommy. However, in the search I saw a lot of the upside down trees again. I was not a fan when they first showed up a couple years ago, but I think they might be growing on me....a little. What do you think of them?

Home Inspiration: Getting Cozy
Good morning dears! How was your weekend? Mine was absolutely fabulous and I am so in the Christmas spirit! Around this time of year I go through a phase of wishing that I lived in a beautiful cabin or a cozy English cottage. The kind where I could sit with a hot drink and a roaring fire and watch snow falling outside. So for now I'll have to settle for this inspirational eye candy.

Friday Favorites
How was your day yesterday? Thanksgiving was so wonderful at our house and I was absolutely fat and happy by the end of the day. Now we have a long weekend to look forward to and it's officially Christmas time! I've been holding back on posting too much Christmas, so I'm VERY excited for this months posts.
It's Friday and here are some things that I wish could be mine from around the web.
1. This fur vest from H&M looks chic and cozy for winter. Put it with some jeans and some tall boots. Happiness!
2. This chunky neck ring would look cute and cozy with the vest on a cold day.
3. This necklace would be a fun accessory for a holiday party, but it would also look adorable with a t-shirt and jeans.
4. Shoes make me happy, but these strappy booties make me OH so happy. I love the color and the detail.
5. I am absolutely smitten with this hair clip! How cute would this look with the perfect holiday dress??
6. Peppermint Bark is out at William Sonoma! I'm ex-static! So, so yummy.
7. Who doesn't love a hot cup of goodness on a cold day? These mug cozies make it so much better and cuter!
8. Check out this awesome gingerbread pan! You can make gingerbread houses from scratch. How fun is that?!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Getting to Know You
For a Thanksgiving treat and since I'm now finally a regular blogger after a year of thinking about it, I decided to do a "get to know me" post. So you all get to hear some quirky, albeit embarrassing things about me. Yay! I always enjoy a good laugh at someone else's expense, so now you can have one on me.
So here goes:
I have always had and probably will always have a huge crush on Bono from U2. Before I hear any "ewwwws or ickkkkk" from anyone, let me just say this: lets just see if any of you can still look good in leather pants when your his age!
.
I hate fish of any kind including tuna. There I said it! Everyone keeps telling me to try things because "they don't taste fishy", but I'm sorry people to me they do! I actually REALLY wish I didn't hate fish, but whatdya do?
I LOVE it when I laugh so hard that I cry. There are few things that actually can trigger that in me, but it's normally me laughing at other people's expense. However, I'm a really good sport about people laughing at me too. A lesson I brutally learned from my big bros. Which leads me to my next quirk.
I have vivid memories of my worst haircut. I was 5 and thought I was just going in for a trim, but came out with what I distinctly remember was a boy haircut. I cried all day and wouldn't go outside. My mom, thinking she was helping, came up with the brilliant idea of perming it to make it more "girly". Yes people I give you Richard Simmons as a child.
I have a serious love of shoes. They are almost collectors items to me, even if I wouldn't wear them, I still want them. One of these days, when I can afford it, I would LOVE to own a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.
My three greatest fears are bees, sharks and boogies (boogers). I will run away screaming from all three.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you get plenty of food, family, and fun today.

Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving
Chic Christmas
I am so excited for Christmas this year. If you haven't put up your decorations, you're at least thinking about it. I can't wait to put mine up and might sneak a few things up early. I'm dreaming of a metallic Christmas this year, so here's my dream list of decor (especially in love with the mirrored tree).

A Handy Utility Belt
This is a lesson in being prepared. Always pack for the worst case scenario, so you'll have everything you could possibly need. You may even want to make a checklist. (I laughed my butt off after seeing this one - my favorite so far).

The Worlds Most Stylish Bunny
I saw this new book a couple weeks ago and was smitten with it. In Fifi Lapin's What Shall I Wear Today, the ever stylish bunny discusses fashion and gives advice on dressing. There are make-up tips, recipe's, and interviews with designers. All of this together with the illustrations make this an absolutely adorable book. A really fun Christmas present no?. I hope my hubby's taking notes!

Tip of the Day: Visualize Your Path
Today's tip in preparation for Black Friday is an important one. You can't wast time dawdling. Eyes on the prize people! (the scary thing is we all know someone who does this).

Have a Cozy Weekend
It's going to get cold here this weekend (by California standards) and I have to admit, I'm kinda excited. There's nothing better than a cozy fire, a nice warm drink, and an old movie. This is the last weekend before the Christmas rush begins, so I hope everyone can enjoy it.
P.S. Seriously, any yummy suggestions on the kind of pies to make would be so, so appreciated.

Friday Fetish
It's that time again, the weekend is finally here! It's the last weekend before Thanksgiving, so I'll be spending my time getting ready. As I said below, I am making the pies and I still have to figure out what kind to make! I'm really excited for this next week though, lots of family, food and fun.
As always, here are some of the things I'm enamored with from around the web:
I want this whole look from Rag & Bone, but it's the sweater dress that I'm really lusting after.
I'm smitten with these hand-painted vintage candles. The Tea Leaf is my favorite scent.
Don't you think these owl napkin rings/placecard holders would be adorable for Thanksgiving?
These are cashmere lounge pants from Burberry. Oh my what else is there to say??
This hand knitted armchair slip cover is so insanely awesome, I can't stand it!
Amber is such a beautiful warm color and these earrings are the perfect shade.
I saw this ceiling lamp at IKEA and fell in love with it's funky, retro design.
This Mulberry purse has a hint of sparkle to it. Totally perfect for the Holidays!

Oh It's Fun Turning One
A Vintage Toy Party
Today my little man turns 1. This year has been such a crazy whirlwind, that I seriously can't believe he's a year old! We're just doing something low key this year, but if I could go all out I'd do something like this vintage toys party. I adore the blue and red colors and the treats...cotton candy, milk and cookies. Isn't this the sweetest party?

A Whole Lotta Pie
Um maybe these guys were responsible for the pumpkin shortage last year! Thanksgiving is getting so close I can't believe it and this year I'm responsible for making the pies. (eeek!) But what kinds to make?? Pumpkin is a necessity. If anyone has any yummy ideas please share.

I Want One
We've only been in our house a couple months, so I'm still figuring out the decor. As of now we're living in cream walls with cream floors and with all that drabness, I am dying to paint something turquoise. Can you tell which room I want to start with? These turquoise kitchen's are so bright and fun. I want one!

Boot Lust
I'm so in love these wool lined boots that I'm considering selling a kidney just so I can have them.
Christmas in the Air: Paris
Christmas is going up all around us and it's making me more and more excited. Check out these spectacular department store windows in Paris. So beautiful and chic.
